Reiki Energy Healing
What is Reiki?
Reiki is given by a Reiki practioner by the laying on of hands to certain positions on the body. Each position is held for approximately three to five minutes and the entire treatment lasts between 45–60 minutes. The placing of the healer’s hands on the person starts the flow of Reiki energy. It fills the healer’s body first throught the top of her head, into her heart and out her hands to the individual who is receiving the healing. The treatment is a wonderful, relaxing and beneficial experience for both the client and the healer.
Reiki will give the proper amount of energy needed to balance the Mind, Body and Spirit. It can affect change in the chemical structure of the body, helping to rebuild muscles, nerves, skeletal structure and regenerate organs.
Reiki healing is a pure energy form. When it is combined with the sincere desire of the healer, who is willing to affect the cleansing within her emotional and spiritual consciousness, healing occurs.
Reiki has it’s own intelligence and knows exactly where to go and what to do. It’s an energy that comes directly from the highest source. Because it is a channeled healing, the Reiki healer’s energies are never depleted. In fact, when giving a treatment, the healer is healed as well and experiences an increase in life force energy.
There is nothing you must believe in order to be healed by Reiki. The energy will work whether you believe in it or not. In addition to healing your body and mind, it can also be used to protect you from harm, help solve problems and achieve goals.

Therapeutic Touch
Therapeutic touch (TT) is a type of energy medicine whereby the healer holds her hands over the patient’s “energy field,” directing the flow of chi so the patient can heal. TT is based on the belief that each living thing has a “life energy field” which extends beyond the surface of the body and generates an aura. This energy field can become unbalanced, misaligned, obstructed, or out of tune. Energy healers can feel and manipulate this energy field by making movements that resemble massaging the air a few inches above the surface of the patient’s body. Energy healers also can transfer some of their own life energy to the patient. These airy manipulations restore the energy field to a state of balance or harmony, to a proper alignment, or they unblock a clog in the field or transfer life energy from healer to patient. This restoration of integrity makes it possible for the body to heal itself.

Pet Healing -
Reiki energy healing improves/accelerates healing in animals. Animals are particularly sensitive to energy healing mainly because they have no pre-conceived notions of what it can or cannot do. Rev. Shirley has had great success with animals that have had cancer, renal failure and arthritis.
