"I had a chance to sit and meet with Rev. Shirley before I decided on anything. We met in her home. From the moment I met her I knew I had made the right choice - she was to be my officiant. She is warm and caring and puts all of who she is into her ceremony. I could not have asked for more. She worked one on one with me to make my wedding my own. I cannot tell her how thankfull I am for all of her help. We had to make so many last minute changes. She was on top of it the whole time.
As for her ceremony, it was touching. There was not a dry eye in the place. My groom could not stop crying through the whole thing. We decided to go with the sand ceremony. (Rev. Shirley suggested it to me). It was fun and unique. No one at the service had ever even heard of it. The best part is you get to keep the vase when you're done. I put mine on my mantel and use the smaller cups as candle holders.It is my observation that the Reverend is open to new ideas. At our wedding we had two of our party playing guitar - one on acoustic and one on electric. This was new to Rev. Shirley and she was excited to see how it would go. It was great! My bridesmaid, Chaska, played the soft parts on acoustic and the groomsman, Johnny, played the rock version on electric. It went off without a hitch.
